About the job
A Warehouse Operator is responsible for the efficient movement and management of goods within a warehouse. This involves receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping products, as well as maintaining inventory records and ensuring a safe working environment. 
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Receiving and Storing Goods:
    Unloading deliveries, checking for damage or missing items, and ensuring goods are stored correctly in designated areas. 
     
  • Order Picking and Packing:
    Locating, gathering, and packaging items for orders according to customer requirements. 
     
Inventory Management:
Maintaining accurate records of stock levels, conducting stock checks, and using inventory tracking systems. 
 
Operating Warehouse Equipment:
Operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to move goods efficiently. 
 
Loading and Shipping:
Preparing goods for shipment, loading trucks, and ensuring proper packaging. 
 
Maintaining a Safe Workplace:
Following safety procedures, maintaining a clean and organized warehouse environment, and reporting any safety hazards. 
 
Skills and Qualifications:
Physical Fitness:
The role can be physically demanding, requiring the ability to lift, move, and handle heavy items. 
 
Attention to Detail:
Accurate inventory management and order picking require careful attention to detail. 
 
Organizational Skills:
Maintaining a well-organized warehouse environment and managing inventory effectively. 
 
Teamwork:
Working effectively with other warehouse staff and potentially with other departments. 
 
Ability to Follow Instructions:
Following procedures and instructions to ensure accuracy and efficiency. 
 
Operating Equipment:
Experience with warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, may be required.
